Subject of the project is the development of an original System, which will support the decision making for the confrontation of seismic disasters, will include analysis, organization and management methodologies and procedures and will be supported by informatics and telecommunications infrastructures which will process, manage and transfer in real time, a great volume of geographic and descriptive data.

This System will incorporate the last technological developments and practices in the area of the confrontation of natural disasters worldwide, which will be transferred and adjusted to the confrontation of seismic disasters by the participating research, technological and managerial carriers.

Also the System will incorporate the results of the seismological research in the specific areas, in order for them to become immediately usable data for the carrier who is competent for the response to the crisis. The System will also be used for the coordination and the cooperation of the carriers during a crisis, it will be evaluated under a pilot operation in two focused areas and the necessary amendments and improvements will be made. With the end of the Project the System will be able to be immediately applied in every geographical - administrative unit, relative to the one of the pilot application.


So, for the first time, a really integrated product will be produced, which starts with scientific research and is completed with the organization and operation of the technological solution at the specific carrier/ user.
